Parts interchangeablity...

I'm starting to gather parts for a manual tranny swap. I have an 08 and finding information on a swap is tricky.

What years can I source parts from? Do I have to get them off an 08 or can I get them off of older duratecs?

TIA
Joe

Hmmmm....No info?
Guess I'll just compare the parts and do a good write up.

Doing the same thing. What parts specifically are you looking to source from other years? A lot will carry over.

Basically everything. Pedals, shift parts, transmission, wire harnesses.
Theres a junkyard about 5 mins from my house that has a handfull of 06 or 07 2.0 MTX foci, and 0 08-ups. I was just trying to see if it will be easier, and cheaper to source my parts from more available older cars. I've even seen a couple wrecked ones for a few hundred bucks.
I've been watching for an 09 or 10 SES thats wrecked too, be up about 5K, but I could get alot of goodies.
